Five Things Tim and Kon will never forget about Young Justice for [livejournal.com profile] amarin_rose

1) Tim's been called a freak a lot, but when in Young Justice, it wasn't an insult or an indication of failure to act with the appropriate social or emotional response. It was just a description. Dark hair. Short. Freak.

Even in Gotham, no-one said it quite like that.

2) Having a place that was theirs. Not a legacy, not like moving in to someone else's room. Even if it was an old hotel or a JLA back-up location, it was theirs, in a way that the Tower never can be.

3) Food. Everyone in YJ could cook, for certain definitions of the word “cook". That, combined with natural competitiveness and a refusal to admit there was something they couldn't do led to some of the biggest and most interesting meals any of them ever had. The smell of chocolate and orange, jumbalaya, grapefruit juice, maple syrup and barbecued ribs still makes them nostalgic.

4) The way, for a while, they couldn't rely on the JLA to back them up, or even to trust them, but they could rely on each other.

5) It was easier to get together than not.

6) While they were in space coming back to earth –and that took a long time, no matter how advanced the trip- Tim proved that he knew every line in Monty Python's Holy Grail, and was halfway through Life of Brian before they landed.

Five reasons Vril considers himself a perfect mate for [livejournal.com profile] odditycollector.

1. Obviously, when he puts his mind to it, he is capable of orchestrating the kind of sexual pleasure that most species aren't even equipped to handle more than once or twice in a lifetime.
2. This is true even he doesn't put his mind to it.
3. He likes parenting. There's something about seeing your own opinions being formed in another's mind, without any artificial programming, seeing them grow and form. It's like a cross between running a world and gardening.
4. Some would argue that he has, in fact, had limited social, sexual or romantic experience. However, a significant proportion of that was with the Durlan, which means that he is both reasonably knowledgeable about the biosexual preferences of a significant number of species and very, very hard to shock.
5. Frankly, at this point, his standards in a mate are pretty low. As long as they don't try to kill him, he'd classify it as a successful relationship, which must take the pressure off them for trying to live up to him.

The YJ one made me clutch my heart.

The Vril one made me giggle till I had a coughing fit.

Yay. :)

The Young Justice one is brilliant. And t'other made me giggle, even though I don't know who Vril is.

(Gosh, when I first read the title I thought it was five reasons why Vril thought he was a perfect mate for [livejournal.com profile] odditycollector, if you follow me.)

I have two picspam posts about Vril, tagged and nicely located in my sidebar under picspam. Vril is wonderful. He's just... oh, read the picspam and it will explain all. Vril is just... I have such love for that character.

!!! *dies*

Yes, k, no thx plz.

Vril is the sort of character better appreciated *from a distance*. (Although I shall admit #1 sounds pretty tempting.)

I'm *vastly* amused at your phrasing on the title of the second list. Vril/Karen OTP 4EVA!

Oh, the terrible results of comma-absence. You know it's the number one cause of pairing wars, right?

(3) on the first list is worryingly plausible.

And I was yet another to misparse the title of the second list. *grins*

I like to think so, anyway.

Meme's still open, by the way.

Young Justice made me whimper and Vril/Karen is my new OTP.

The food even more than the Monty Python.

Food is important, especially when the people involved are all approximately teenagers.

Joining the "Vril/[livejournal.com profile] odditycollector? Bzuh?" list ... I love them both. Particularly the juxtaposition of 1-4 on the second list with 5 - a little desperate, is he?

Date: 2006-08-30 06:07 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] jamjar.livejournal.com
Not desperate, just pointing out the facts. After all, if they all assume he'd only be interested in someone of the same level as him, he'd never meet anyone, ever.

Alternatively, his love life would be as frightening as much of Supernatural fandom. For *different* reasons.

My mind just went to the crossover place, and it was good.

Well... on the one hand, Vril would be excellent at putting together the necessary patterns, and could probably locate all demon activity in a sweep, if he wanted.

On the other hand, he's not much of the 'saving the world, one person at a time' type, and, besides, faced with (for example) the preacher's wife from Faith, he'd be more likely to *hire* her than destroy her.

I should have clarified: My mind went to the porny crossover place, and it was good. Shallow, but good.

Well, possibly if I knew it was you, I would have taken it for granted. ;p

Damn my giving of too much thought to things! Even now, I am frantically searching for a chain of events that would lead to what you describe. Demons made them do it?

Date: 2006-08-30 09:57 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] jamjar.livejournal.com
Dox has dealt with a demon before.

Or, very possibly, destroy her and then steal her talisman. As he is *much better suited* to wield that sort of power, *obviously*.

Ah, yes, of course. I supposed the subtleties of Dox logic escaped me (perhaps unsurprisingly).

Oh, the YJ one broke my heart -especially the "freak" one. Because for Tim, it would be a strange sort of badge of honor. That he would apply his obsessive compulsiveness to memorizing Monty Python lines? CLASSIC.

Just. Gah. I miss them so, so very much.
