Good news!
Jun. 4th, 2005 08:44 pmI will be going the long way back!
The Trans-Siberian is back on. Looks like the plan is a couple of days in Shanghai, six or seven on the train and a couple more in Moscow.
From there,I'll probably go on to St Petersburg, having said a tearful goodbye to my travelling companion, by overnight train, and on to Helsinki after that, where I can see my relatives before heading back to the UK.
Things to do:
Resume panicking over logistics.
Email Finnish relatives.
Look in to getting a visa for China.
Start saving.
Start sending stuff back.
Buy lots of packing tape and brown wrapping paper.
Repeat first item on the list.
Yay!
