So, I have been working at my new job for a week, and it's good.

.
I really don't have much more to say about it-- the people are lovely, the work is fine-to-pleasing and all things I can do. I feel like I've actually got stuff done this past week, organised stuff, posted things, improved things that hadn't been sorted in a while. Also, lunch is free and the commute is nice. These things are important. And there are random conversations of interest about dark matter and baby-killing meerkats that go on behind me. I have made a number of excessively complicated spreadsheets my bitch and filemaker loves me.

The actual induction, where I was hoping to ask things like, "So when do I get paid?" was cancelled, but aside from that, no worries.

Aside from that, things are also good. Got to go to Fruitstock with the lovely [livejournal.com profile] ciderpress. Food and fannish-conversations go very well together. Went to bellydancing for the first time in a while and met up with [livejournal.com profile] interlock, so I was able to force Napoleonic Dragons on her. And now I have to wait until the next one's written, dammit.

Went to the proms with my aunt, went to Spitalfields with [livejournal.com profile] kabukivice. We showed a relatively high degree of willpower, which... um. Relatively high. In relation to the many shiny things there were. I love Spitalfields and it kills me how many of you, especially London-you have not been.

So basically, stuff has been good, and really, that's all I have to say.

Thanks! It's just... it's just good, you know? just sort of, generally positive. Knock wood.

I tried to resist the sampler chapter, but failed, and now I know exactly wat you mean - I think because the end of the book doesn't actually *finish* so much as *stop* and I don't really *care* about the fate of Europe, half as much as I care about the dragons.

Also : not sure if I'll make it to class or not tommorow - students in t-2days so things are getting very frantic.

Fingers crossed you make it. I have shiny works of dubious literary merit to give to you!
