3. a musical artist, song, or album
4. a LiveJournal user not on my friends list
5. what I should have for dinner
6. a website
7. a quote

Date: 2005-09-03 07:10 am (UTC)2. Stories of Your Life, by Ted Chiang.
3. And the Musical Prophet (my player on random shuffle) says...Tom Lehrer, Cows with Guns. Huh. (If you want an upload, let me know.)
4. Um. Um. This is hard. So I'll just offer three people in DCU who you don't have friended:
5. Well, I had Mongolian Barbeque. And it was yummy.
6. The Artwork Faceoff (http://www.the-athenaeum.org/art/faceoff.php). Endlessly entertaining, and pretty, too. Or try Planarity (http://www.planarity.net/). The first 15 levels are boring but they go fast (or you can just skip them), and after that, it's great until you get past 34 and the lag gets frustrating. It's engaging mindlessness!
7. (WARNING: from the top of my head and probably misremembered.) "It is as healthy to enjoy sentiment as it is to enjoy jam." "Some people - and I am one of them - hate happy endings. We feel cheated. Harm is the norm. Doom should not jam." And, for the record, I'm totally with Chesterton and not at all with Nabokov on this one.

Date: 2005-09-03 09:55 am (UTC)2) Cool, I'll keep an eye out for it. What genre is is?
3) I have this one! Or I had it, before my hardrive died a death. Wouldn't so no to having it again, though.
4) I'll check them out. I'm fandom flexible, and those names do ring a bell.
5) I love Mongolian food.
6) Yay! Ways of wasting time online!
7) ...I think I want that first quote as a subtitle for my page.
