Feb. 9th, 2003 09:48 pmMark didn't let him do this often, but if Davy picked the right moment, when Mark was pleased about something, then he'd let him lean against him, and if he was really pleased, and a little but tired, like when he'd ben out and had a really good hunt, then he'd let Davy sit in his lap while he read the morning papers.
Mark's hair was long and when he read, it sort of fell forwards, like a wall against the rest of the world. He'd let Davy comb through it with his fingers, as long as he didn't tug too hard.
It felt better, being around Mark, not so hungry. Mark smelt a little of blood, which made Davy a bit hungry, but he didn't say anything. Mark always said he was too picky with his food, but Davu didn't have glamour and he didn't like hurting people when he fed. It was pretty unfair, he thought, that Mark should have so much glamour when he didn't even mind hurting people to eat. And most people got kind of hurt just by Davy being around. Not hurt, exactly, but he made them uncomfortable, and the people that felt best to be around, got hurt the most.
Except Mark, who often got angry with Davy, but still let him hand around. And really, that almost made up for everyone else, 'cause even if Mark wasn't nice, always, he was still the best person to be around.
