Summary:
So I had three prompts to pick from, and this is the one I went with because this is the one where the words came-- well, mostly. I had scenes and feelings and the vague shape of thing, but I ended up doing a lot of figuring out of what went where, how it all fit together. I was also very fortunate thatbirdsflying and mardia were able to beta, because part of all of that re-ordering was the occasional line leftover from a previous order.
I have so, so much love for this show and this canon and writing for it gave me the excuse to re-watch, and to re-watch looking out for specific moments. Part of that was technical, trying to figure out the timing, and part of that was characterisation-- figuring out, in a post-finale fic, what the key moments were. Seriously, this show was so good! And there are these characters that I wanted more of, stories and connections we didn't get a chance to see, and not enough of the ones we did! I mean, sure, that's what fic is for, but still.
