Comment to this post and I will give you five subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given.
yan_tan_tether gave me these
1) London
I live in London. I'm also from London, as in born and raised (though, in keeping with London's grand traditions, both my parents are from elsewhere">. Specifically, I'm from south-east London, which is a key geographical and cultural distinction, in the eyes of people from south of the river and also north of the river, because the closer you are, the more the small distances matter. Vast cultural and philosophical differences! Buses, not tubes!
Also, I love London. I love the history and I love the present, I love being able to sit on the bus and hear six different languages and pick out three different kinds of French, I love the parks and cemeteries and the way there are places that are mine, places that you have to find out about. It's a place that makes me happy to be in. Or a collection of places, because London is basically villages separated by city instead of fields.
2) Leeds United
The song, not the football team (Arsenal FC, if you're curious). I was in the music video for this as a very blurred figure in the background and Amanda Palmer is utterly lovely in person.
3) MCR at the O2
Live music can take you up and out of yourself and gestalt with the crowds and the band feeds off you and you feed off the band and it's amazing. This? This was a great show. Also, Gerard Way singing the opening of Flash Gordon is still awesome.
4) Knitting
I like to knit. I'm good at seeing what a pattern means and fixing my mistakes, but my mum has more even stitches. I'm a "Push on! fix it enough to work, don't frog! Forward momentum!" kind of knitter. Lace and sockweight yarns, usually, but I want to start knitting cardies and maybe a jumper again. It's fun and means you can be productive while doing nothing.
5) QI
Um, did you see this week's episode? <3
I love random facts and comedy and I have a bunch of eps as mp3. It's very good to listen to on the bus, since the desperate snorting of you trying not to laugh out loud tends to keep the seat next to you empty.
