Alan Scott: Myne prophecies to Him were Rite Confuséd, for many cover themselves in Greene Light, and also dance between Life and Death like they werre a Hare in Marche. My wordes that he should seek the advice of a Mind Doctore before he did wedde did not reache him in time. Fortunately, my advice concerning his Companionship with Mercury's Childe did, and he did nurture it in the Light and in the Darke, and made ryte goode use of thee closestes.
Vril Dox: I have no desire to take over the universe. My only aim is to see that it remains out of teh control of the endless, mindless ambitions fo whatever power-seeker is after it this week. This does sometimes involve putting it out of the reach and into the hands of another (and I am almost always the best option when one considers the ability as well as the desire to hold a world in trust), but that does not equate with wanting to "take over the universe."
That said, it depends on the exact situation. Of course, many of my descendents have greated embedded technology than myself, which I could make use of in my escape. It's entirely possible that I could manipulate Querl Dox's jacks to communicate with the outside world, in which case I would manage my interests long-distance.
In the absence of any consistent means of communication, I would appoint Phase acting head, with Captain Comet as a reasonable second. This would be an interrim condition, since my research has shown that a Terran-based hero known as Red Tornado II has the ethical, intellectual and social development necessary to serve in my place, and his experience dealing with juvenile minds with too much power would transfer well to the field of intergalatic political management.
I have made contact with one Thaddeus Thawne, and we have much in common. If I could ensure that he would not turn evil, that he'd broken of the conditioning and developed a reasonable moral core, I might find a place for him in my organisation.
