So, here's what's happening with me
Dec. 13th, 2004 01:23 pmOn Thursday, I head back to the UK for Christmas. I come back to Japan on the 30th. Internet during these times will probably be spotty, not least because...
My ibook is bust (yes, again). Very strange, the screen just-- went. Doesn't light up at all now. there I was, working my way through Impulse, and flickeryflickeryblack.
From what I can tell, the rest of it's okay. I can switch on, it makes good sounds, though I have no idea if the rest of it's okay because-- black screen.
Plus side-- I have a pretty much up to date JBBS copy, plus the one I sent to be beta-read. Downside,I lost one or two thousand words from Yuletide. Plus side, I do have a print out, so I should be able to recreate it if I have time and access to a computer.
Plus side again, Louise is lending me her back-up laptop, so I'm not internet deprived (heh, almost typed "depraved") and I'll be taking my back back to a big city, where there will be English mac repair. Hopefully. London, it's got to have somewhere, right?
ETA-- Woo! My habit of leaving CDs every where serves me well, for in the school computer at work I find... my CD, with the most recent copy of both Yuletide and JBBS! I am a happy bunny.
Jen- send me a copy of your one and I'll send you a copy of mine, yeah?

Date: 2004-12-13 01:20 am (UTC)Yes, I am hopeful- Yuletide and JBBS aside, it was a pretty good time for bad things to happen to my baby.
Incidentally, do you want a Japan calender? I think I sent one to you last year, and this year, in a rare stroke of wisedom, someone thought to send them to the JETS *before* January. I'm sticking one in my suitcase for my parents, I could add another for you. Honestly, I think the pictures last year were prettier, but it's not bad and it's a good, practical design (reasonable space for writing stuff on each day). and it is free, of course
