Picspam for L.E.G.I.O.N 23. Vril Dox is the toppiest top in all of DCU.

A quote from L.E.G.I.O.N. 23: "I was his pet and he was my master. That's the way it was. Not his fault any more than it was mine."

Back story, back story, back story. The Durlan is about the closest thing Vril Dox has to a friend. He gets timeswapped, disappears off and is replaced by Phase from the future. Vril doesn't take this well (outwardly cold, then breaking up computers, crying on graves and saying, "Why did you leave me, Durlan?")

In issue 23, the Durlan is still in the future and writing his autobiography.

When Durlan met Vril...
The Durlan was captured by the computer tyrants of Colu and experimented on by Braniac I (the evil one), until Vril Dox II (the one that's... well, not evil so much as conscience-deprived)

The dramatic rescue!

He's kind of a brat in this scene. He really doesn't know any better.

He turns into a book. I can't say how much I love that.

"Master." I have no words.

Another explanation of why I love Vril: my general love for prematurely aged vatborn clones with evil fathers.

Semi-naked wrestling with the shape-changing tentacle aliens!

I love my canon H/C.

Still kind of a bastard.

You couldn't make this stuff up.

I think doing that for someone has got to be a sign of love.

He doesn't like Bek, does he? I think he's just jealous.

I want an intelligent shape-changing tentacle monster for a pet!

Okay, you've been in Japan too long. ~_O

But he's intelligent and ethical, and it would hone my creative skills.

That's extremely fucked up. You know this, right?

*goes to wash her brain*

(And it's kind of -- sweet. Sort of.)

Extremely fucked up, and very sweet. You can see why I like it, right?

[identity profile] petronelle.livejournal.com 2005-07-01 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Because you, too, are a big softie.

I'm onto you, lady.

*chokes* Oh. My. GOD.

(The wrestling broke me. I was on the edge, and that just threw me off into headlong screaming insanity.)

*cradles her broken head*

[identity profile] jamjar.livejournal.com 2005-07-01 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I know! Isn't it wonderful? You think DCU can't break your brain any more than it already has, and then bam. Semi-naked wrestling with shapechanging tentacle monsters as part of an intelligent debate. They probably discussed philosophy or politics or biochemistry after.

*Swoons*

[borrows legion world from the future to club Vril with]

And the thing is, it doesn't really matter if they're doin' it or not. It's still just as fucked up.

{also: EEeeeeeee! I wish to give you things! Tender young virgins! Intelligent shape-changing tentacle monsters! Fic! I am your creepy minion.)

EEeeeeeee! I wish to give you things! Tender young virgins! Intelligent shape-changing tentacle monsters! Fic! I am your creepy minion.

Strangely, that could be description of this chapter. Okay, maybe Vril isn't exactly tender, but...

And I want to give you things, too. Things like maybe more L.E.G.I.O.N. issues, if you had no objection?

Really not.

They're on their way.

Am quite behind on playing catchup, but will read the l.e.g.i.o.n. stuff soon!

But, about the wma file... You have iTunes, right? If you drag and drop a wma into the "library" it'll automatically convert it into an mp3 for you.

See, now this? This just isn't fair. I just got into the Legion of Superheroes a few months ago. I'm still trying to get a grasp of the post Zero Hour and the newboot and all the other boots and and and - you can't suck me in with another Brainiac and a Durlan and a MASTER/PET STOLKHOLM HAPPY (kinda) RELATIONSHIP and another complicated part of the DCU and waaaaaaah. *falls down and cries* I don't have enough brain to manage this.

But they're in current continuity! No reboots! And they briefly crossed-over in an annual with the JLI -yes, that's right, Booster and Beetle and co.

And they've also just made a tiny appearance in the Rann/Thanagar War.
